Tutorial: DIY Turmeric Infused Castor Oil

Previously I've shared about a DIY Castor Oil and Turmeric Mask to lighten skin and pigmentation but that methods sometimes makes a total mess and stains everywhere. So now I'm gonna share another method that is less messy and the stain is more manageable. The ingredients is basically the same but instead of making a mix of turmeric and castor oil each time, the turmeric itself is infused into the castor oil.

Ingredients:
- turmeric powder
- castor oil
- container

I choose a small glass bottle so I can see when the turmeric powder and castor oil mixture separates. I use The Skinfood Tea Tree Emulsion bottle that has been emptied. The steps are very easy, first I put a generous amount of turmeric powder into the bottle. Turmeric powder can be found easily in grocery shops and supermarket.

The second step is pour the castor oil into the bottle.

Shake well and the oil will turn into an orange or deep yellow color and it will look cloudy.

Leave the bottle to stand overnight. By the next day, the turmeric powder would have settled at the bottom part of the bottle and the orange oil at the top part is the one that we're gonna use. Take a small amount of this turmeric-infused oil and rub it into your skin or face thoroughly. Leave on for at least 30 minutes (longer if you feel comfortable) and wash off.

Remember that using natural methods such as these require patience. Give these methods consistent use for at least 1-2 months before deciding if there is any improvement or not. Keep in mind that the skin only renews itself every 30 days or so.

Note: You can also make other turmeric infuse oil with other oil than castor oil such as olive oil and grape seed oil.
