Review: Papulex Oil Free Cream

I finally make another review on this great moisturizer that I've been using for almost six months now and also have been repurchasing it too!! It's Papulex Oil Free Cream. So what is Papulex? Papulex is a range of an acne care products from France that is specially formulated products for acne-prone akin and has been clinically demonstrated to be effective for all forms of acne! The Papulex line of products cleanses, protects and keeps acne-prone skin in good condition. It contains three key ingredients; Nicotinamide, to calm red and irritated skin, Zinc PCA to help control oily skin and maintain the skin in good condition and an antibacterial substance (ABA) to help clear blemishes. The three ingredients work together to help calm, control and clear acne-prone skin and address the three root causes of acne; (i) Bacterial colonization, (ii) Inflammation of the affected area, (iii) Excess sebum.

Packaging:
Most products from Pharmaceutical Company has a no fuss design and so does this one. But then again what's important is the inside right? Although sometimes I'm a sucker for a cute packaging too . The tube contains 40ml of products and it's sealed to your satisfaction!!

Key Benefits:
  • Helps clear blemishes by promoting oil-free skin.
  • Moisturises the skin and reduces shine appearance.
  • Non comedogenic.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Mattifies the skin reducing shine appearance.
  • Can be used day and night.
  • Dermatologically tested

Ingredients:
There are 3 Active Ingredients in Papulex that are clinically demonstrated to address the 3 root causes of acne such as:
1. EU-Patented ABA Technology: Unique to Papulex, EU-patented ABA technology helps block the proliferation of (P. acnes) bacteria in the outer layer of the skin.
2. Nicotinamide - Helps reduce inflammation: Papulex contains 4% Nicotinamide, a natural molecule derived from Vitamin B3 that has potent anti-inflammatory properties. And studies have shown that Nicotinamide is as effective as clindamycin gel in reducing acne severity and lesion counts without inducing bacterial resistance.
3. Zinc PCA - Helps reduce sebum production: Papulex contains Zinc PCA that helps regulate sebum production, which causes oily skin and acne. A clinical study demonstrated that 1% Zinc PCA leads to a significant decrease of the sebum rate 28 days after its twice daily application, while no significant variations were observed in the placebo group.

For the rest of the ingredients please read from the picture above.

The Cream:
The cream is water based so it's really light and very easily absorbed by my skin. So even though it is a cream it's not as heavy as other cream. It also doesn't have any scent like the products claims.

My Thoughts:
I never knew about this brand before until my brother mention it too me and he said that his friend has been using the combination of Papulex Cream and Cleanser and his skin never looks better. Sometimes after that I met a friend who happens to be a Dermatologist and she said that she's been prescribing this cream to her patient too and she's gonna give me one if I'm interested. Well.... That pretty much got my attention #LOL the "free" part . At first I thought it was an emulsion type of moisturizer of some sort because when we talk (me and my dermatologist friend) she said that people with a skin type like mine should choose emulsion type moisturizer because it's lighter. But thenn.... When I had the Papulex on my hand I saw the "Cream" name on the label and I was like whatt?!?!?! She know I can't really handle cream products right? But why is it cream?? Oh well she's the dermatologist right? Not me. So then I scroll into the ingredients list and saw that it's water based. Hmm... that means it should be lighter on my skin right? So I made my mind and started to use it.

The first week that I use it I notice that the cream does help with my shininess during the day and it does helps mattify my skin. I'm quite happy because some products that claims to be oil-free doesn't really meet its expectation. What about my acne you say? The first months I've been using this cream I feel no change on my acne whatsoever and I beginning to have my doubts. But hey that happens when I started to use Vitacid too right? The results shows around week 6 at that time so I guess I'm gonna keep using the cream for about two months. FYI the tube last for more than two months because I only use it in the morning and at night I still use Vitacid. Ohh.. The cream does help lessen my flaky skin from the Vitacid too BTW.

So I almost reach two month and I completely forgot to check my skin condition by the time I reach week 5 and when I look into the mirror I notice that my skin does look nicer and the acne are mostly gone. But what I really really like is that this serum helps lighten my acne scars while at the same time clears existing acne too!! How great is that!! I usually wait for my acne to calm down first and then try to reduce those blemish marks because if I try to use whitening products while having acne they just gonna get worse. Now here I am almost reaching 6 month of using the cream and I never been happier!! Yess I still have acne here and there because I have hormonal imbalance and I refuse to take a pill but it's not as worse as it use to.

P.S: This cream can also be use on body acne like on your chest or back and it can also be use on your neck because I tends to have them acne pops up on my neck.

P.P.S: You can see my skin progress at this post.

Where to Buy?
Some people have asked me on where to buy the cream because apparently it was quite hard to find and even I had to ask my friend to send it to me. But.. Don't worry I've searched several ways on how you can get your hands on it.
1. You can ask local Pharmacy to order it for you (This was suggest by my dermatologist friend).
2. I've seen someone selling it on Female Daily Forum. It's a trusted forum so I think it's quite safe.
3. If you wanna buy it online you can get it at Fellin Shop.
