Review: The Body Shop Born Lippy Strawberry Lip Balm

Hello!!!

Long time no see ya? I've been going out of town back and forth lately and my apartment is currently undergoing a renovation so I really haven't had the time or mood to blog. Plus the renovation makes my apartment dusty and I had crazy breakout!!!! They are on both of my cheeks, my chin, my jawline, my forehead...!!! Noo....!!!!! Why did those stupid zits always come back... Haah... But anyway my room is mostly done and I'll probably had about a week or so before the contractor started making the kitchen, dining and living area.. Hopefully my skin will get better then although I kinda doubt it. On the other side though... I finally had a custom closet and make up area yay!!! I never had a vanity desk before even back at my parents house. So I've always long for a big closet and pretty vanity desk which I now have!! I'll post about it later if you're interested about it. So back onto the review then... This time I'm gonna review a lip balm by The Body Shop and usually I'm not really a fan of The Body Shop Lip Balm because I have to use my finger onto the tiny jar and it does nothing to my lips other than a slight glossy look. But this lip balm is different because it's a stick lip balm so it's more convenient and I gotta admit the packaging was hella cute!!

Description:
Our cult lip balm in a stick format. Gives lips a pop of colour, a shot of moisture and a soft shine.
  • Moisturises and conditions lips
  • Pink tint
  • Subtle shine
  • Fruity strawberry flavour
Available in 6 flavors: Strawberry, Pomegranate, Pink Berry, Lychee, Plum and Toffee.

Packaging:
Isn't the packaging cute!! I have to admit it's the only thing that caught my attention first ehehehehe.... Each of the shade of this lip balm has color coordinated tube with a lip motif. Uber Cute!!

Ingredients:
Ricinus Communis Seed Oil/Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil (Emollient), Octyldodecanol (Emollient), Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate (Skin Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Limnanthes Alba Seed Oil/Meadowfoam (Limnanthes Alba) Seed Oil (Skin Conditioning Agent), Sorbitan Olivate (Emulsifying Agent), Candelilla Cera/Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax (Stabiliser), Cera Alba/Beeswax (Emulsifier/Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance), Aqua/Water (Solvent/Diluent), Octocrylene (Sunscreen), Copernicia Cerifera Cera/Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Synthetic Wax (Binder/Emollient), Homosalate (Sunscreen), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Sunscreen), Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil (Skin Conditioning Agent), Ammonium Glycyrrhizate (Flavour), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Coleus Forskohlii Root Extract (Humectant), Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (Emollient), Olea Europaea Fruit Extract/Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Polygonum Cuspidatum Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Triticum Vulgare Germ Extract/Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Sodium Phytate (Chelating Agent), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Sodium Citrate (pH Adjuster), Triethoxycaprylylsilane (Binder), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide (Colour), CI 15850/Red 7 Lake (Colour), CI 19140/Yellow 5 Lake (Colour), CI 77499/Iron Oxides (Colour).

My Thoughts:
  • The strawberry lip balm has a light pink tint when applied although it's very sheer so it's not really noticeable which I think makes it perfect to layer it over other lip product especially lip stain or lip tint. I prefer to put lip balm after I use lip stain or lip tint because if I use lip balm first sometimes the lip stain / tint color won't adhere well.
  • It has a great strawberry scent that reminds me of strawberry gummy bear although it doesn't taste like one.
  • It's surprisingly quite moisturizing on my lips and it keeps my lips well moisturize for about 3-4 hours but it doesn't help when I have chapped lips though.
  • The lip balm glides well and didn't feel sticky nor waxy.
  • It's in stick form so it's more convenient and also hygienic.
  • Unfortunately it doesn't contains SPF although it has sunscreen properties in it.
